Mel is the farthest thing from courageous. He tends to walk with a low head and doesn't raise his voice often. Because of this, it's hard for him to make friends as he's never the first to speak.

Skittish: (of an animal, especially of a horse) excitable or easily scared.

Because his right eye is missing, it's really easy to sneak up on Melrose. Over the years his instincts have become jumpier. He tends to be in a constant state of flight or flight. Never wanting to hurt anyone else. He will bolt at the first sign of trouble. Often making him seems like a coward to others.

Forgetful: apt or likely not to remember.

Mel forgets almost everything. He knows he's on the forgetful side.

Laziness has always been a vice for him. He just feels tired all the time and thus only wants to exert the smallest amount of energy on tasks. He tends to sleep a lot and take shortcuts in work.

Rose tends to compliment others a lot. If you're looking pretty that day, he'll let you know. If you seem down, he'll try to make you happy. This is just his way.
